Conflicts rarely escalate because of the actual topic, but because of the dynamics. Systems theory calls this schismogenesis – an unconscious, symmetrical build-up of accusations and defense until the conversation hits a dead end.
This is exactly where SCHISMO steps in. The AI does not look for culprits or interfere with the content. It acts as a neutral observer, holding up a mirror to the overarching communication pattern of your system.
What is spoken in the room stays in the room. Your data belongs exclusively to you.
Behind Schismo is no anonymous tech corporation from Silicon Valley. My experience comes from direct work with people and systems – as the managing director of a socio-psychiatric organization, school principal, and innovator for self-managing organizations (Teal model), as well as in my own consulting practice. Throughout these years, deeply rooted in systemic communication theory, one central question always stood out during escalating conflicts (known as schismogenesis): How do you stop this spiral at the exact moment it happens?
However, the real spark came from a remark made by my wife – we have been married for over 30 years: "It would have been good if YOUR arguing behavior had been recorded just now." Naturally, I was thinking the exact same thing about HER behavior in that moment. 😉
But that sentence was the catalyst: What if we translate profound practical knowledge into a digital real-time tool? An always-available mediation team that immediately recognizes toxic dynamics and breaks them with a neutral "cut" before any harm is done.
With today's capabilities of local AI voice processing, this vision became Schismo. I wish you constructive conversations!
